The old tree

This old tree is in my old yard.  We moved next door when we moved so we have the whole block.  Over the years we kept thinking it would die.  It is home to birds, squirrels and many insects.  At one time there was an old chain growing out of one of the branches, but that one finally died.

Our tree man tried for years to talk us into cutting it down since it was so hollow, but we wouldn't.  We would sit in the window and watch the new baby birds learn to fly.  The baby squirrels poke their heads out to see the world for the first time.  Every winter we were sure it had died but every spring it burst forth full of life, from the inside out.

I just love this old tree and we have decide to let it die a natural death and live as long as it wants.  Its ugly and most people wouldn't want it in their yard even if it was a ways off......  but we do.

More flower and things

I decided to do a slideshow of these.  I love taking pictures of flowers have you have noticed.  The colors are so vivid and I have lots of flowers around and in the woods around my house.  They look better seen in the original size.

Old things.

The first is old clothspins.  Very old in the other yard.  They are by my hubby's old work van which is the source of my 2nd picture.  It looks just as bad close.  Last is a piece of particle board that has been out for years in the old yard.  You can tell I just moved next door and forgot about the old place, LOL.

Taking pictures makes you look at things with your camera's eye.   I am always seeing things thinking about what sort of picture it would make.  Wanting to capture it.  I wanted the weathering of the clothspins to stand  out.  The color, the fraying and age of the wood.  Even the color of the rust and old paint on the old work van looks interesting when you just take a bit of it and focus on it.  And I love the blackness of the holes.  Last the wood.  I love wood.  The texture and layers which you miss if looking at the entire piece.  So my old pictures, makes me think about doing some yard work in the other yard, LOL.  But what would I take pictures of?

I wander around the yard and look for things to take pictures of.  As you can see it can be anything.

What do you see?

Ok, in the first picture here I see a young woman's torso.  The breasts are high and firm, the abd has muscle tone....it regresses to an old woman's body, the sagging breasts, the hanging 5 kid belly, the vagina from hell.  I couldn't stop laughing.  I wasn't drunk, no drugs, but that is what I see......did you all see it?

When I saw this door I immediately had to laugh.  Does anyone else see what I saw?  I call it Metamorphosis.  I love to look at the pattern in wood and see what things I can see.

Monday morning photo shoot.

"Your Monday Photo Shoot: Capture something in flight. Birds, insects, planes, bats, whatever -- if it's getting around in the skies, it's fair game for this photo shoot. "

These are all from my old files but they all fly!

Monday Morning Photo shoot.

Your Monday Photo Shoot: Picture something in orange. As a challenge, don't take pictures of actual oranges (the fruit), and picturing actual pumpkins seems a little too easy too. Other than that, go for it.

    Well I have some orange.
