Bloggers Community Photo Challenge- Food

We have a few Challenges still going on, but our bi-weekly challenge starts today & ends on Thursday Jan. 29 @ 9 PM EST. Our Poll will begin on Friday, Jan. 30th.
This week's Challenge is FOOD! So you may cook, bake, or just take an interesting shot of anything that we eat. Can be growing on a plant, can be placed on a decorative plate, as a still life image..... Can be just fruit in a dish. Try to be creative, make sure you have plenty of light, & again keep a steady hand when snapping the shutter....Ü

Homemade split pea soup. Something I can actually cook and cook well. It was yummy. Great on a cold winter day. Click here to see other food entries.

SOOC Sunday

On a blindingly bright sunny day, a butterfly stops for lunch. Technically this shot is probably all wrong with it brightness but I like it because it is just like it was that day. Oh for warmer weather. Soon....
Please stop by Murrieta 365 for more straight out of the camera participants.

One Fence, different views.

Sky Watch Friday

I am a day late with this but I figure I have a week to post.
The photo below I took on the road to Yellowstone right outside Cody. You go through this long wonderful tunnel and there is the dam with this wonderful lake. The lake is called Buffalo Bill Reservoir. We should have paid more attention to the sky and less to the lake as we got caught in the mountains in Yellowstone during a ice and snow storm making the drive down the mountain eventful.

Gate

Thursday Challenge-

"EXPERIMENTAL" (Interesting Photographic Effects, Failed/Strange Photos, Blurry, Overexposed,...)
To the rest of the Thursdays photo's or to play along click the link.

These are from my files. On this one I had set the camera and darted back to be in the picture. Not sure exactly why but I became transparent setting off all kind of philosophical discussions about about the fading role of women in today's society and the mother figure become less appreciated in the family unit, blah blah blah.

The one below was a school of fish, I had just got my new canon and obviously had some practicing to do.

Another fish shot behind glass. Don't know where the glasses came from and are those coins?

Focus focus focus.

Last, make sure people aren't wading in the aquarium, LOL. Hard to shoot through glass and fortunately some of my shots actually turned out.

Photo Hunt - Hats

My son assures me this is the THE hat. Pittsburgh Steelers hat. Personally I kind of wish I had my old nursing hat, that would have been a cool hat but...... when they said we didn't have to wear them anymore I happily tossed them in the fire.

Pretty to look at....

Pretty to photograph, but dangerous to fly threw. Thank God for the crews expertise in landing the place safely. Training for the unexpected.

Can I have a taste?

Thursday Challenge - Many

Thursday's Challenge this week is many. Well..... I have many clocks. I love old clocks and have several. Here are some of them. They all work but I don't have all the chimes wound at one time. I have about 10 more that I rotate during the year plus some antique watches. Have absolutely no excuse for being late anywhere, LOL.

Monochrome Monday

This old building from the 1800's didn't need much to bring out the age to it. I had to get rid of some signs in the window, a stop sign in front and the Harley parked by the side. I enhanced the colors and contrast and adjusted the lighting so the bricks and details would stick out some and then converted it to black and white. A touch of film grain to add age and cover a little of the erased marks blurs and to give the sky some effect as it was completely white when converted to black and white.

For more Monochrome Monday shots click on the link and play along.

I decided to add the original photo to show the things I needed to eliminate for the above shot. I wanted the old building to look as old as it is and all the signs plus modern transportation took away from it.

Creative Photography, Winter Photography

Looking out my kitchen window there is snow as far as I can see. Muted by the curtains and screen it is can not be completely ignored as it piles up on the chimes.
